Based in Richmond, Kentucky, TAG Towers has carved a niche as an independent provider of premier wireless communication towers, distinguishing itself through the expert ownership, operation, and management of multi-tenant communication tower sites spanning the United States.
David Ginter
President
Mr. Ginter oversees all civil and regulatory affairs of the Company including tenant relations, site acquisition, regulatory filings, local zoning and ground lease negotiations. He joined Horizon Cellular (d/b/a Cellular One) in 1995 and held several real estate and construction management positions with them and their successor company Dobson Cellular. Before cofounding Tower Access Group in 2008, Mr. Ginter spent a year with AT&T focused on the integration of its newly acquired Dobson network. He also spent several years in his career working as a General Manager for TowerTech, a general contractor focused on the construction of wireless towers. Mr. Ginter is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and computer science.
Richie Pennington
Vice President of Operations
Mr. Pennington oversees all tower construction activities of the Company including project planning, engineering drawings, site walks, general contractor management and tenant equipment installation. He joined Horizon Cellular (d/b/a Cellular One) in 1995 and held several project estimating and construction management positions with them and their successor company Dobson Cellular. Before cofounding Tower Access Group in 2008, he spent a year with AT&T focused on the integration of its newly acquired Dobson network. Mr. Pennington is a graduate of Morehead State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and computer science.
Mark Gergel
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Gergel oversees all financial, legal and administrative affairs of the Company. He is a principal owner and serves as Chairman of AirWay Group, a privately held provider of network equipment and related field services to the wireless telecom and broadband industries. He spent the early years of his career with Ernst & Young as a CPA and with Federal-Mogul Corporation (NYSE) where he held several financial management and business development positions. From 1992 to 2000, he was Chief Financial Officer of World Access (NASDAQ), a proprietary telecom equipment and services company. From 2001 to 2007, Mr. Gergel served as Chief Financial Officer for Commnet Wireless, a network-based provider of wireless voice and data roaming services. After five consecutive years of more than 125 percent growth in both revenue and earnings, Commnet Wireless merged with ATN International (NASDAQ). From 2001 to 2005, he was also Chief Financial Officer of Commnet Supply, a related wireless telecom equipment distributor. In addition to his work with Tower Access Group and TAG, Mr. Gergel was an early investor in Network Management Holdings (“NMS”) and served in a board advisory position. NMS built, owned and operated 450 cellular towers in Colombia, Mexico and Nicaragua that were sold in a $75 million transaction in 2017. Mr. Gergel is a graduate of the University of Michigan where he earned his BBA degree in finance and accounting.
Ted Moody
Treasurer
Mr. Moody joined AirWay Group in 2023 as its Director of Finance and was recently elevated to its Chief Financial Officer. From 2021 to 2023, he was an Investment Banker in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Raymond James, where he advised clients on an array of merger, acquisition, divestiture and recapitalization transactions across a variety of industries. He spent the early years of his career as a Private Equity Investor at Portfolio Advisors and an Investment Banker at MTS Health Partners, both New York-based firms. While in these positions, he evaluated, executed and monitored investments in middle-market companies and provided M&A advisory services. Mr. Moody is a graduate of Loyola University Maryland where he earned his BBA degree in finance.
